Pedigrees of all puppies and adult Danes sold or
otherwise disposed of by members of SAGDA must include
details of colour for four generations. In cases where
the colours of ancestors are not known, the member is to
make every reasonable effort to trace these details. In
this respect SAGDA will give every possible assistance.
The following are acceptable colour cross matings :-
1. Fawn to Fawn or Brindle
2. Brindle to Brindle or Fawn
3. Black to Black, Harlequin or Blue
4. Blue to Blue, Black or Harlequin
5. Harlequin to Harlequin, Black or Black variants or
Blue or Blue variants.
NOTE: Mating of Harlequin to Blue is not
advisable for the inexperienced breeder and in cases of
this nature it is essential that all details of colour
be included in the pedigree of any offspring.
Any crossing of colours other than the above is
considered to be detrimental to the ultimate good of the
Breed.
